Betty Ann (Smith) Gedert

Betty Ann Gedert, 78, died Thursday, January 11, 2018 at Hospice of Northwest Ohio. She was born December 14, 1939 in Toledo to the late Robert and Elizabeth (Nagypaul) Smith. Betty was a graduate of Waite High School. She was a lifetime volunteer at various schools, church and community organizations including, Maumee Bay State Park and Our Lady of Mt. Carmel. Betty enjoyed making ceramics, sewing and participating in craft shows as well as cooking and baking for friends and family. Camping, spending winters in Florida and participating in casino trips gave her great pleasure.

Betty is survived by Bernie, her loving husband of 58 years, children Marty, Debbie and Tina (Brad) Glazier; grandchildren, Zac Gedert, Sam (Danielle) Glazier and Emily Glazier. She is preceded in death by her daughter, Kim.

Family and friends may visit the Freck Funeral Chapel, 1155 S. Wynn Rd in Oregon on Monday, January 15, 2018, from 4-8 p.m. with a Prayer Service at 7:30 p.m. The Funeral Mass will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, January 16, 2018 at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Catholic Church, 1105 Elliston Rd., Martin, OH. Memorial contributions can be made to Ronald McDonald House or Hospice of Northwest Ohio.
