Calvin T. Miller

Dr. Cal Miller was born on June 5, 1924 in Whitehouse, Ohio to Edward and Mildred Miller.  He served proudly in the Navy Seabees, during WWII, mostly in the South Pacific.  After the service he married Loretta Prekop in 1950.  They were married for 51 years until her death.  Cal graduated from the College of Podiatry in Cleveland, Ohio in 1954 and worked until 1970 as a podiatrist in the Toledo area.  He then worked in the pathology laboratory at Toledo Hospital until retirement in 1985.

            Cal had many hobbies including a collection of hand and long guns, tropical fish and photography.  He was a member of the Bowman Dance Club and volunteered for many years at Bay Park Hospital information desk.  Cal attended First St. John Lutheran Church.

He is survived by nieces, Cindy Pierce, Lorrie Sollis and Rose Boes and a very special friend, Florence Partin.  Cal was preceded in death by his parents and wife.

Family and friends may visit the Freck Funeral Chapel, 1155 S. Wynn Rd in Oregon on Friday, February 17, 2017 from 9-11 a.m. where funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Burial will follow at Whitehouse Cemetery. Memorial contributions can be made to First St. John Lutheran Church.
