Coy H. Giles Sr.

            Coy H. Giles Sr., 86, of Toledo, Ohio, passed away on Wednesday, March 22, 2017 at Foundation Park Alzheimer’s Care Center. He was born on April 13, 1930 in Boaz, Alabama to John and Laura Giles and married Bonnie Rickman sharing 45 years together. Coy proudly served our country in the U.S. Army as a combat medic during the Korean War. He was a Conductor for CSX Railroad for 42 years until retiring in 1993. In his spare time Coy enjoyed gardening, his classic cars, birds and his dogs. Many knew him by his C.B. handle “Mystery Man.”

            He is survived by his children, Rhonda, Coy Jr., Penelope and Jeff Giles; 9 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren and sisters, Lola, Anne and Billie. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife and 7 siblings.

            Family and friends may visit the Freck Funeral Chapel, 1155 S. Wynn Rd in Oregon on Wednesday, March 29, 2017 from 4-6 p.m. A Veterans Service will take place at 5:45 with the Memorial Service to begin at 6 p.m. that day in the Funeral Chapel. Burial will be private. Memorial contributions can be made to Coys family.
