Daniel Hager Shupp

     Daniel H. Shupp, 69, of Millbury, Ohio, passed away peacefully on Sunday March 6, 2016 surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Toledo on February 19, 1947 to Ralph and Dorothy Shupp and attended DeVilbiss High School until entering the Navy in 1965. Dan served three tours of combat during the Vietnam War, receiving the Meritorious Unit Commendation, Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal, Vietnam Service Medal and the National Defense Service Medal. Dan was very proud to have served his country.

     Dan loved the seas and for 20 years sailed on the Great Lakes with the Oglebay Norton Company as an engineer retiring in 2000. In his spare time, Dan enjoyed fishing, camping, cooking, baking, gardening, tending his fruit orchard and taking care of his home.

     He is survived by his sons, Todd (Heather) Shupp and Nathan Shupp; daughters,  Danielle Shupp and Tiffany Shupp; grandchildren, Andy Self, Jr., Alexia Newman, Madison Mendoza, Morgan Kushi, Malayna and Denver Shupp; sisters, Donna (Frank) Cherry, Janet (Paul) O’Conner along with many nieces and nephews. Dan will be sadly missed by his special friend and companion Barbara Shupp. Daniel was preceded in death by his parents, Ralph and Dorothy Shupp and sister, Carol Sebold.

     A Graveside Service will be held at 10: 00 a.m. on Friday, May 27, 2016 at Toledo Memorial Park, 6382 Monroe Street in Sylvania.
