Daniel P. "Danny" Smith

            Daniel P. Smith, 67, of Toledo, Ohio passed away on Thursday, May 11, 2017 at ProMedica Bay Park Hospital. He was born on February 7, 1950 in Toledo, Ohio to Edger and Pauline Smith. Daniel proudly served our country in the U.S. Army, during the Vietnam War.

He worked for Jeep as a Team Leader retiring in 2000 after 31 years.  Daniel enjoyed finding treasures at auctions and estate sales, as well as being outside, especially in his yard. He loved his 6 dogs and found his greatest joy being “Papa” to his granddaughters.

            Daniel is survived by his, beloved wife of 47 years, Deborah “Deb” Smith; daughter, Danita (Lance) Lewandowski; granddaughters, Savannah (Jake Richardson) Hurst and Jaydah Hurst; siblings, Carol, Ethel (Bruce), Joann (Jim) and Chris (Mike), as well as many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and siblings, Ralph “Bud”, and Liz.

            Family and friends may visit the Freck Funeral Chapel, 1155 S. Wynn Rd in Oregon on Monday, May 15, 2017 from 2-8 p.m. Funeral Service will begin at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday in the Funeral Chapel. Burial will follow at Lake Township Cemetery. Memorial contributions can be made to the St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
