David L. Hathaway, 60, of Toledo passed away at his home on Monday, March 11, 2013. He was born in Toledo on September 25, 1952 to Paul C. and Elenore (Sturgill) Hathaway and was a 1971 graduate of Waite High School. For over 34 years, David was a UAW Local 12 laborer working for Toledo Technologies, retiring in 2012. He was an advocate for the Union serving as chairman and vice chairman. In his spare time, David enjoyed watching sports and was a Yankees and Cowboys fan but most of all loved spending time with his family.
He is survived by his wife, Robin; son, Jeremy P. (Ashlee) Hathaway; and brother, Glenn (Jean) Hathaway; many sisters-in-law; brothers-in-law; nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. David was preceded in death by his parents.
Friends and family may visit from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. on Thursday, March 14, 2013 at the Freck Funeral Chapel 1155 S. Wynn Rd in Oregon, OH where the funeral services will begin at 10 a.m. on Friday. Burial will be private. Those planning an expression of sympathy are asked to consider UAW Local 12 or the American Cancer Society.
