Edward Dale South

            Edward Dale South, 90, of Curtice, OH, passed away on Tuesday, August 1, 2017 at Orchard Villa Nursing Home. He was born on August 9, 1926 in Moundsville, WV to John and Minnie (Straight) South.  Dale proudly served our country in the U.S. Army Air Corp as a clerk during, WW II. In 1948, he married Ruth Berger and together they raised 3 children. Dale worked as a tree Surgeon for Davey Tree Expert Company, retiring in 1994. Along with his wife he was a long time member of the Calvary Church and volunteered with M.A.P.S. Dale was an avid gardener, fisherman, loved being outdoors as well as a member of the Y.M.C.A. Silver Sneakers Club until only a few months before his passing. He enjoyed being Papa more than anything in the world. Dale was a people person that truly lived a wonderful life and will be missed by many.

            He is survived by his children, Deborah Quinn, Daniel (Sharyl) South and Linda Pietz; 7 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. Dale was preceded in death by his wife; parents and 2 sisters.

            His visitation will be held at Calvary Church, 1360 Conant St., Maumee, OH on Friday, August 4, 2017 from 4-8 p.m. Funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday in the Church. Burial will follow at Ottawa Hills Memorial Park. Memorial contributions can be made to Calvary Church.
