Ellin J. (Jeffery) Bick

     Ellin J. Bick, 73, of Oregon, Ohio passed away peacefully on Sunday, October 15, 2017 at Hospice of Northwest Ohio Perrysburg Center.  She was born on June 5, 1944 in Toledo, Ohio to Gordon and Helen Jeffery.  Ellin was a 1962 graduate of DeVilbiss High School.  She earned a bachelor’s degree from The Ohio State University and obtained her Master’s Degree from Toledo University.  

     Ellin started her career as a school counselor at DeVilbiss High School and later becoming a principal for Toledo Public Schools.  After retiring from T.P.S. she continued to work as a principal of Meadow’s Choice Charter School.  Ellin was known by many for her positive attitude and her uplifting spirit.  She forever changed many lives of young children through her work and as a mentor, role model and second mother.  Her brightest days were those spent with her grandchildren, whom she loved “to the moon and back.”

     Ellin is survived by her daughter, Kim (Bill) Kamelesky; grandchildren, Blake, Jonny, Kloee, Lauren and Will; brother, Jim (Kris) Jeffery as well as, many nieces, nephews and cousins.  Ellin was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Gerald; son, Jonathan and sister, Emily Pollard.

               Per Ellin’s request a memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday at Hope Community Church, 5650 Starr Ave. Oregon, Ohio.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of N.W. Ohio or Hope Community Church.
