James "Jimmy" Bresler Obituary

James A. Bresler, 70, of Oregon, passed away February 1, 2018 at his home. He was born on 12/4/47 to Alvin and Rita in Toledo. Upon graduation from Clay High School, Jimmy joined the U.S. Coast Guard and proudly served as an engine mechanic from 1965 until his discharge in 1969. During this time in the USCG, he met the love of his life, Geraldine Byrne. They were married in May of 1970 and enjoyed 48 years of marriage.

Jimmy worked for Conrail/CSX Railroad and retired in 2007 after 38 years of loyal service. Family was important to Jimmy and together with his wife raised five sons.  He and his wife Gerri took great joy in attending their grandchildren’s extracurricular activities and hosting many family get togethers at their home during holidays and birthdays. He enjoyed playing the lottery (and winning), working on cars and puzzles, taking cruise ship vacations with his wife and friends, and spending lots of time at their cottage on Lake Seneca with his beloved pet, Suzie Q.

Jimmy is survived by his wife; Gerri, and their sons; Mike (Liz), James (Becky Szczerbiak), Tony (Maressa), Brian (Karen), and Sean (Rachel) and 18 grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, brother; John and sister; Linda Marie.
