     Kenneth C. Lahey, 94, of Walbridge, Ohio passed away on Monday June 5, 2017 at Lane Park of Oregon. He was born in Dunbridge, Ohio on April 30, 1923 to Thomas C. and Ila C. (Eckel) Lahey and had honorably served our country during WWII in the U.S. Army-Air Corp. He obtained the rank of Staff Sergeant, flying 42 successful missions in the European Theater as a Tail Gunner with the 319th Bomb Group. In 1946, Ken began his career with the International Union of Operating Engineers Local 18 as an operator- engineer, retiring in 1985 from Geo. Gradel Co. after 17 years with the company. Ken had a tireless work ethic and in addition to his heavy equipment career, farmed a variety of crops. He was a faithful member of St. Jerome Catholic Church in Walbridge.

     Ken is survived by his children, Dennis (Vicki) Lahey, Laura (Bryan) Miller, Thomas (Debra) Lahey and James (Susan) Lahey; nine grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; one great-great-granddaughter and sister, Ilene DeVine. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Irene Lahey; son, Kevin Lahey; daughter, Colleen Lahey and siblings, Mary Buchman, Patrick Lahey and David Lahey.

     Family and friends may visit the Freck Funeral Chapel, 1155 S. Wynn Rd. in Oregon from 2-8 p.m. on Thursday, June 8, 2017. The Funeral Mass will begin at 10 a.m. on Friday at St. Jerome Catholic Church with the family to receive guests one hour prior. Burial will follow at St. Rose Cemetery. Memorial contributions can be made to St. Jerome Catholic Church, 300 Warner Street, Walbridge, Ohio 43465. The family wishes to offer a special thank you to the staff at Lane Park of Oregon for their loving care and to Southern Care Hospice for the comfort they provided to Ken during his last days.
