Marilyn J. Denman, 90, of Oregon, Ohio passed away on Tuesday, May 24, 2016 at Orchard Villa.  She was born on November 8, 1925 in Findlay, Ohio to Roy and Hazel Roether. Marilyn was a devoted advocate of the mentally handicapped and served on several boards and committees throughout her life, one of her favorites being the Josina Lott Foundation of Toledo. She was married to Russell E. Denman and together raised their family. They both loved to listen to and dance to the Big Bands.  Marilyn was known for knitting wash clothes and baby blankets for everyone. Her family was her life and above all were her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.  She enjoyed rocking and reading to them all. Marilyn’s hugs were the best and she was known to make the “perfect” vanilla ice cream cone.

She is survived by her children, Milton Denman, Richard (Nyla) Denman, Linda (Charlie) Kanthak and Thomas (Kathy) Denman; 13 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren and sister, Nancy (Daryl) Bair.  She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Russell; daughter, Cindy (Mark) Young and brothers, Earl and Lester. They were all her life and light.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff of Orchard Villa Nursing Home and Hospice of Northwest Ohio for taking such compassionate care of Marilyn.
