Mary C. (Tomesek) Swage

            Mary C. Swage, 89, of Oak Harbor, Ohio passed away suddenly on Sunday, August 14, 2016 at Mercy-St. Vincent Hospital.  She was born on September 8, 1926 in Toledo to Mike and Mary Tomesek.  Mary started her career in the accounting department at LaSalle’s and while the company changed names and owners over the 50 years she was employed, she continued on, retiring from Elder Berman’s in 1998.  

Mary was never one to sit still and enjoyed many trips to Las Vegas and Canada over the years with many different relatives joining her, always anxious to be their “tour guide”.  She also enjoyed spending time shopping and dining out with her sisters Annie and Cookie, and at the end of dinner she always made sure to take home a treat for her “kids” which where her cats, who she loved dearly. 

Mary is survived by her sister, Fran “Cookie” Avery; sisters-in-law, Bernadette (Rich) Singler and Janet Tomesek; brother-in-law, Hyman Frank, as well as, many nieces, nephews and extended family.

Mary was preceded in death by her husband, Steve Swage; brothers, Fritz, Jerry, John, and Joe Tomesek; sister, Anne Frank; and sister-in-law, Violet Tomesek.

        A celebration of life will be held at Tony Packo’s Restaurant on Sunday, September 11, 2016 at 2 p.m.
