Ronald O. "Ron" Zimmer

            Ronald O. Zimmer, age 79, of Monclova, Ohio passed away on Wednesday, April 20, 2016 at Florida Hospital Waterman.  He was born on May 29, 1936 in Toledo, Ohio to Edward and Dorothy (Reed) Zimmer. Ron worked as a Driver for Great Lakes Distributors until he retired and went on to work as a Bus Driver for Anthony Wayne Schools. He was a past member of the Ottawa River Yacht Club and Commodore there from 1973 to 1974. Ron enjoyed watching the Ohio State Buckeyes and Chicago White Sox’s, as well as boating and spending time at the family cottages. Beyond everything else he loved his time spent with his family, particularly his grandchildren.

            Ronald is survived by his loving wife of 42 years, Rose; daughters, Christine (Gregory) Dietz, Constance Sickles and Darlene Zimmer; son, Allen and many many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; also survived by, Patti Cranker. He was preceded in death by his parents and daughter, Catherine Sickles.

Family and friends may visit the Freck Funeral Chapel, 1155 S. Wynn Rd, Oregon, on, Thursday, April 28, 2016 from 2 to 8 p.m. where funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. the next day. Burial will follow at Ottawa Hills Memorial Park.  Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society
