Sharon Denise Gaich

Sharon D. Gaich, 55, of Toledo passed away unexpectedly on Monday, April 3, 2017 at Mercy –St. Anne’s Hospital. She was born July 27, 1961 to Sam and Ora K. (Lawson) Gaich and was a 1979 graduate of Genoa High School. Sharon received her bachelor’s degree in 1983 from the University of Toledo and worked as a radio announcer with WJYM in Perrysburg until 1986. From 1983-1988, Sharon worked as a substitute teacher with Oregon City Schools. In 1984, she began her journalism career with Press Publications as a writer, editor and photographer.  Sharon continued her education and received her law degree also from the University of Toledo. She currently served as a prosecuting attorney for the City of Toledo. Sharon loved music and enjoyed playing the piano and organ when needed at both East Toledo Baptist and First Baptist Church.

She is survived by her brother, Sam Gaich; nieces and nephews, Joseph Shawn Lanham, Jeremy (Erin) Lanham, Jennine M. Lanham, Nicole Draper (Mark Venzke), Magen Hornyak, Samantha Gaich (Phillip Ford), Zachary Gaich, Eli  Gaich, Katherine Gaich, Zora Gaich, Kendra Sleesman and Bailey Sleesman; many great-nieces and great-nephews and significant other, Ron Snyder. Sharon was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Joseph Roger Lanham; infant brother, Larry Lanham and sister-in-law, Janet Lanham.

Family and friends may visit the Freck Funeral Chapel, 1155 S. Wynn Rd in Oregon on Friday, April 7, 2017 from 2-8 p.m. Services and burial will remain private.
