Sharon Kathryn Newland

            Sharon Kathryn Newland, 75, of Curtice, Ohio passed away on Friday, November 3, 2017.  She was born on May 12, 1942 in Minneapolis, Minnesota.  Sharon married Alvin Newland on April 12, 1970 and together they had 45 years of marriage.  She loved to play Bingo and enjoyed birds, gardening, riding in golf carts and camping.  Sharon was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother.  She will be dearly missed by her family and friends.

Sharon is survived by her children, Denise (David) Malkemus, Roger (Dawn) Newland and Mark Newland; grandchildren, Cody, Lucas, Monica, Mark, Joey, Bryant, Nicholas, Samantha and Jenna; great-grandchildren, Kyndall and Kobe James; sister, Linda and her brothers, Butch and Bobby.  She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Alvin and sister, Nancy.

A memorial gathering will be held on Wednesday, November 8, 2017 at the Freck Funeral Chapel, 1155 S. Wynn Rd in Oregon from 5:30-7:30 p.m. where a memorial service will take place at 7:30 p.m.  Memorial contributions can be made to the Toledo Humane Society.
