Thomas Richard McGee

     Thomas R. McGee, 78, of Oregon, passed away on Wednesday, January 27, 2016 at Hospice of Northwest Ohio in Perrysburg. He was born in Oregon on December 22, 1937 to Thomas Robert and Ida Mae (Mallory) McGee and was a graduate of Clay High School.

     For 8 years, Tom worked for A & P Food Stores and then began his 47 year career as a Sexton, caring for the Toledo Jewish Cemetery in Oregon. He was a member of Christ United Methodist Church and the Harborview Yacht Club. Tom was a gifted musician, singing and playing the guitar in his band, Tom and Country Memories. He was affectionately known as “Country Tom”.

     He is survived by his loving wife, Loretta McGee; brothers, Gary McGee and Keith McGee and sister, Cheryl (John) Welsh along with many dear nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; his stepmother who lovingly raised him, Wilma Irene McGee; first wife, Shirley McGee and son, Art McGee.

     Family and friends may visit the Freck Funeral Chapel, 1155 S. Wynn Rd, Oregon, on Friday, January 29, 2016 from 2-8 p.m.  Funeral services will be held on Saturday at 11 a.m. in the funeral home. Burial will follow at North Oregon Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made in Tom’s name to Hospice of Northwest Ohio.
