Walter W. Evans

Walter W. Evans, 54, of Toledo, Ohio passed away on Wednesday, July 6, 2016 at Advanced Healthcare Center.  He was born on January 18, 1962 in Toledo to Edwin and Miriam Evans.  Walter earned a culinary degree and worked as a cook for many years.  He also worked for an industrial cleaning company before his health started to decline. 

            Although Walter never had children of his own, he enjoyed spending time with kids, taking them on bike rides and swimming.  He was a Boy Scout Leader with Troop #60 for many years. Walter was an avid Steelers fan.  He will be dearly missed.

            Walter is survived by his parents, Edwin and Miriam Evans; siblings, Teresa (Robert) Evans-Anderson, Kim (Randy) Grindle, John (Sue) Evans and Tamber (Chris) Laux; nieces and nephews, John Evans, Tim (Kearstin) Grindle, Matt and Melissa Laux; great-niece, Emma Grindle and many aunts, uncles and cousins.  He was preceded in death by his grandparents and nephew, Randy Grindle, Jr.

Family and friends may visit the Freck Funeral Chapel, 1155 S. Wynn Rd, Oregon, on Monday, July 11, 2016 from 3-9 p.m.  Funeral services will be held on Tuesday in the funeral home at 10:30 a.m.   Burial will follow at Ottawa Hills Memorial Park.  Memorial contributions may be made to the American Lung Association.
