In Loving Memory of Robert "Figgy" Newton September 2, 1950 - February 15, 2008 Age: 57

Robert “Figgy” Newton, 57, of Curtice, Ohio passed away Friday, February 15, 2008 at home surrounded by his loving family. He was born on September 2, 1950 in Toledo, Ohio to Vivion and Evelyn (DePuy) Newton. Bob served his country in the U. S. Marines during Vietnam. He worked as an inspector for the Lucas County Sanitary Engineers for the last 24 years. In his younger years Bob worked as a Commercial Fisherman and enjoyed silhouette shooting and trapping. Robert is survived by his loving wife of 10 years, Carol (Mercer), children: Donald (Jolyn) King, Jim (Jenny) King, Melissa (Bill) Fisher, Wayne (Sonya) Cousino and Tami Cousino. He is also survived by 10 grandchildren, his brother, Tom (Connie) Newton and nieces, nephews and many special friends. Friends may visit Freck Funeral Chapel, 1155 S. Wynn Rd. in Oregon (419) 693-9304, on Monday, February 18, 2008 from 2-9 p.m. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday at 11 a.m. in the funeral home. Burial will follow in Lake Township Cemetery. Family requests memorial contributions in Robert’s name be made to Hospice of N.W. Ohio.
