Destina Ellen Cook, of Toledo and a 1971 graduate of Maumee High School, passed away at Hospice of Northwest Ohio quietly after losing her battle with cancer for over a year on March 12, 2008. Destina was surrounded by loved ones and has gone to rest with the Lord who welcomes her with open arms. She will be missed by many people who were touched by her giving nature, loving heart, and unselfishness towards others. Tina not only raised two boys through much hardship, but she also helped raise her best friend’s eight children as well. All with a mother’s loving heart and gentle hand. She loved children with all she had and never turned anyone down who were in need of a home and a warm meal. Tina was a women who could talk as long as you were listening and had a hearty laugh with a dazzling smile that could light up a room. She will be missed by many and loved by all who knew her.
