Dorothy (Farrell) Kovach formerly of Eastvale Dr. in Oregon, OH lost a valiant struggle with kidney disease on February 17, 2008 at Orchard Villa at the age of 86. She was born August 11, 1921 to Stanley and Stella (Goscinski) Modlinski. Dorothy was a devoted wife, a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother and a caregiver to her second husband, Joseph and her mother, Stella. She was a member of Euclid Methodist Church. In addition to being an excellent cook and baker, she crocheted many afghans for her family. Dorothy was the widow of Roland Farrell who passed away in 1964 and she married Joseph Kovach in 1969 and he passed in 1979. Survivors include her children: Delores (Paul) Gunther, Thomas (Karen) Farrell and Diane (Daniel) Barrett; grandchildren: Paul (Lisa) Gunther, David (Georgette) Gunther, Kimberly (Jack) Ganues, Thomas (Becky) Farrell Jr., Larry (Tracy) Bolander, Tracy Bolander, Scott (Charlyn) Barrett and Tony Barrett; great-grandchildren: Gabrielle and Lily Gunther, Lexi and Derek Bolander, Beaux and Beatrice Barrett, Turner Barrett and Ashley Gundrum. She is also survived by her sisters, Irene (Bill) Gladney, Virginia Miller, Gertrude (Claude) Lynch and Lottie (Paul) Overberg. She was preceded in death by her parents, husbands, sisters, Helen Kline and Alice Kubiak and brothers, John and Ollie Modlinski. Friends may visit Freck Funeral Chapel, 1155 S. Wynn Rd. in Oregon (419) 693-9304, on Wednesday, February 20, 2008 from 2-9 p.m. Funeral services will be held on Thursday in the funeral home at 11 a.m. Burial will follow in Willow Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Kidney Foundation of N.W.
