Elizabeth “Tizzy” Valiquette, 84, of Oregon passed away Wednesday, January 9, 2008 at the Hospice of N.W. Ohio in Perrysburg. She was born in Toledo on November 7, 1923 to George August and Lilly Elizabeth (King) Katschke. Tizzy worked in the laundry dept. for Americare Nursing Home and retired in 1987. She was a faithful, active member of the East Toledo Baptist Church where she was involved in the choir, Awana (Christian Scouts) and helping with the needy. Tizzy was also a member of the Girl Scouts of America.

She is survived by her loving family, children: Carolyn (Rich) Turturice, LuAnn (Jerry) Garard and Eli (Suzanne) Valiquette; grandchildren: Tina (Dave) Goralske, Jodie (Michael) Apthorpe, Jenni Pfister, Janelle (Dave) Ridens and Daniel (Rachel) Valiquette; great-grandchildren: Jenna, David Jr., Chelsie, Michael, Brittney, Destiny, Natalie and Alivia. She is also survived by her sisters, Gladys (Albert) Deiter and Edna Hopp. Tizzy was preceded in death by her parents, loving husband, Eli Virgil Valiquette Sr.; daughter, Diane Pfister; grandson, Richard Turturice Jr.; sisters, Clara Gullion, Elsie Rubacava and Effie DeShetler and brother, George Katschke.

Friends may visit Freck Funeral Chapel, 1155 S. Wynn Rd. in Oregon (419) 693-9304, on Sunday, January 13, 2008 from 2-9 p.m. Funeral services will be held on Monday in the East Toledo Baptist Church at 11:00 a.m. Burial will follow in Oakwood Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the East Toledo Baptist Church or the Hospice of N.W. Ohio.

Tizzy’s faith in God and love of everyone she met made her very special to anyone who was fortunate to know her. She truly lived for her Lord.
