In Loving Memory of Thomas "Joey" Whitten September 25, 1984 - December 30, 2007 Age: 23

Joey Whitten, age 23 of Curtice, passed away Sunday, December 30, 2007 at the Arbors of Clyde. Joey was a very well known and loved person, he made friends easily and everyone enjoyed his company. He graduated from Clay High School in 2003 and was a volunteer at the Ability Center while in school. Joey is survived by his parents, Walter and Seledina (Garcia) Whitten, siblings, Oscar (Maria) Garcia, Walter Whitten Jr., Nellie Whitten, and Diana Whitten, 11 nephews and nieces, grandmothers, Dora Garcia of Bono and Ouida Pitts of Atlanta, GA, uncles, Edwardo, Jose, Ediberto, Tomas, Adam, Carlos, Ramon, and Rueben Garcia, and Ted (Teresa) Carver, aunts, Rita and Diana Garcia, Nellie Mitchell, Dora, Tammy, and Linda Pitts. He will also be missed dearly by his many loving cousins and friends, especially his good friend, Alicia Henneman. Joey was preceded in death by his grandparents, Eduardo Garcia Sr., and Guadalupe and Roberto Leal, aunt, Delia Reyes, and cousins, Adam Garcia and Stephanie Black. Friends may visit Freck Funeral Chapel, 1155 S. Wynn Rd. in Oregon (419) 693-9304, Thursday and Friday from 2-9 p.m. Funeral services will begin at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, January 5, 2008 in the funeral home. Burial will follow in Oakwood Cemetery.
