Larry Edward Roughton Sr. born July 31, 1950 age 57, went to be with our Lord on May 5, 2008. Larry is a wonderful person, a great son, husband, father, brother, brother-in-law, uncle and most importantly an honest true, helpful friend to all his friends, neighbors and strangers. Known as (McGyver), he loved to hunt and fish, scuba dive and travel the United States and a few countries. He was the Chef at the annual neighborhood Pig Roast. His newest hobby was to fly his tryke, a motorized paraglider. He said that he wanted to fly before he died and he did and when he landed he said how awesome it was. Now he has his own wing’s without the price of gas.
Larry worked at an early age for his grandfather. He worked at Libby Glass early 70’s then moved out west and worked as a hot tar roofer in the late 70’s in California. He came back to Ohio in the early 80’s and worked as a carpenter and had his own tree service then worked as a boilermaker at the Toledo Ship Repair for 20 years. Larry loved life. He fought a long hard battle of pancreatic cancer. What a fighter! God love Him, we do. We will miss you so very much. Surviving are his loving, caring wife, Denise Roughton of 33 years, his three children; son, Larry Jr. (Angie) Roughton, daughters, Tammie Jo Roughton, Amy Lynn (Ron) Hanson, 13 grandchildren, loving mother, Evelyn (Mabel) Roughton, brothers, Gary (Charleen) Roughton, Dan (Robin) Roughton; sisters, Deb (Rick) Steele, and Gloria Jean (Don) Roughton, step-mother, Joyce Roughton, half-sister, Carrie Roughton and many nieces and nephews.
