Mrs. Lillian J. Merritt, age 82, of Oregon, Ohio originally of Buchtel, Ohio, died on Friday, March 7, 2008 at the Hospice of N.W. Ohio in Perrysburg. She has been a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints since 1976. Lillian was a lifetime member of the VFW Ladies Auxiliary, the Moose Lodge, and Foresters. She worked at the Suburban Gas Co. for 18 years and the Aultman Hospital in Canton, Ohio and owned a Ceramic Tile Co. for 12 years and a Dating Service for 8 years in Tallahassee, FL. Lillian enjoyed spending quality time with her family, working on her family genealogy and planning family reunions for the last 40 years. She loved to square and round dance as well as line dance. Pastimes of hers include photography, quilting, exploring this wonderful country of ours and last but not least gardening. She is survived by her son; Richard (Barbara) Nunley of Elkhart, IN.; son-in-law, Dan Dedmon of Oregon, OH.; 5 grandchildren: Angel (Tony) Carlo of Oregon, OH., Shannon (Steve) George of Sylvania, OH., Rick (Doris) Nunley of Canton, OH, Chris ( Sara) Nunley of Osceola, IN. and Amber Landry of Tallahassee, FL., as well as 11 great-grandchildren. Lillian was preceded in death by her husband, James Merritt, daughters, Karen Kay Merritt and Mrs. Shelia Ann Dedmon, son, Ben Nunley, parents, Hershel and Esther McKee and brother, Eldon McKee. Burial will be at Greenlawn Cemetery in Nelsonville, OH. with her husband, parents, daughters and son. Calling hours will be at Freck Funeral Chapel, 1155 S. Wynn Rd. in Oregon, OH. on Sunday, March 9, 2008 from 2-6 p.m. and at Souers-Cardaras Funeral Home, 46 Fayette St. Nelsonville, OH. on Saturday, March 15, 2008 from 10 a.m. until the time of service at 1 p.m. |
