Marie Elizabeth Wharton, age 69, of Oregon, Ohio passed away on Wednesday, April 25, 2012 at Arbors of Oregon. She was born on October 2, 1942 to John and Betty (Contos) Fejes. Marie worked different jobs over her lifetime but found her calling as the lay pastor at Calvin United Church of Christ for 15 years. The countless lives she touched will dearly miss her and never forget her.
Marie is survived by her loving and devoted children, AnnMarie (Keith) LaPointe and James (Wendy) Wharton; grandchildren, Forrest, Nichole, Heather and Jimmy; 3 great-grandchildren; brother, John Fejes and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, James H. Wharton; sister Sharon Fejes and 1 great nephew.
Family and friends may visit the Freck Funeral Chapel, 1155 S. Wynn Rd. in Oregon on Sunday, April 29, 2012 from 2 p.m. until 8 p.m. Funeral services will follow at Calvin United Church of Christ, 1946 Bakewell St. in Toledo at 10 a.m. on Monday. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers Memorial contributions can be made to the family.
