            Annie Ruth (Hemphill-Lewter) Rehl passed away Saturday, June 24 2017, at her Northwood home, with her husband by her side. She was born December 22, 1930 in Lincoln County, Tennessee. Annie was preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Etta (Cordell) Hemphill; sisters, Sue Slayton, Maggie Slayton and Mary Pilkinton; brother, Albert Hemphill and husband, Melvin A. Lewter. She is survived by her loving husband of 30 years, James P. Rehl; daughters, Diann Lewter Crosser, Vickie (John) Names and Jennifer Rehl McCabe; son, James (Cassie) Rehl Jr., grandchildren, Michelle (Bill) Billiard, Wendy (Adam) Hall, Taylor McCabe, Cole McCabe, Georgia Rehl, Hallie Rehl and Cooper Rehl; great-grandchildren, Devon Billiard, Brianna Billiard, Leah Hall and Amber Hall.

 

            Ruthie, as she was referred to by those who knew her well, made the world a better place with her beautiful smile and her kind and loving heart. She considered herself an Ohioan, having lived here 65 of her 86 years. She had resided in Northwood since 1958. Ruthie worked for Tiedtke’s Department Store for 10 years. She retired from Plabell Rubber Company, in 1991, after 19 years of service.

 

            Ruthie’s family would like to thank the staff at Hospice of Northwest Ohio for their loving care and support.

 

            Family and friends may visit the Freck Funeral Chapel, 1155 S. Wynn Rd in Oregon on Wednesday, June 28, 2017 from 2 to 8 p.m. Funeral services will be held on Thursday at 10 a.m. in the funeral home. Burial will follow at Restlawn Memorial Park. Memorial contributions can be made to the East Toledo Baptist Church or Hospice of Northwest Ohio.
