Ernest A. Stencel, Jr., passed away peacefully at home on July 20, 2018, surrounded by family. Ernest was born November 9th, 1924 in Toledo, Ohio. He served in the Marines and World War II. He was a proud member of the VFW Post 9816 and served as an Oregon Police Officer for many years. He enjoyed traveling the country until he no longer could due to health reasons.

He is survived by his son, Ernest Stencel III (Kim); daughters, Luann Stencel, Pam (Donny) Jones, Cindi (Ernie) Avery; grandchildren, Christy (Mario) Rizo, Carrie Hall, Donny and Tori Jones, Nick and Matt Stencel; great-grandchildren, Brookelynn Avery, Ava and Kara Rizo. He is preceded in death by his wife, Luella Stencel of 64 years.

A memorial service will be held for Ernest on July 28, 2018, at VFW Post 9816, 1802 Ashcroft Dr. Oregon, OH 43616 starting at 2:00 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to the donor’s choice. Burial will be private at a later date.
