Gregory Robert Bauer

February 18th 1963 - June 29th 2017

Gregg was born on February 18th of 1963 to Robert and Dorothy Bauer at St. Luke’s Hospital in Maumee, OH. After growing up in Millbury, OH as the youngest of five children, he went on to graduate from Lake High School in 1981, and later attended Bowling Green State University to study graphic arts.  Professionally, Gregg most notably worked as a processing clerk for the United States Postal Service.

He married Jullia Roberts in 1990 and although they divorced in 2011, they remained amicable and continued to spend time together, especially with the family. In his younger days, his hobbies included darts, pool, bowling, and camping with his family. It was not known to very many, but he was an amazing artist. Gregg painted many murals in the cities of Millbury, Pemberville, Oak Harbor, Curtice, and Genoa.  He was extremely passionate about his motorcycle, his close friends, parents, siblings, 2 dogs, Ohio State football, Tigers baseball and maybe, most notably his 4 grandchildren. Gregg is survived by his sons, Noah Andrew (Emily Schwartz) Bauer and Evan Gregory (Kenya Middlebrooks-Bauer) Bauer; his brother, Jim Bauer; his 3 sisters, Sharon Kremsreiter, Marcia Bauer, and Carol Sheetz; his 4 grandchildren; multiple nieces, nephews and cousins; and his 2 dogs. Greg was preceded in death by his parents; Robert James and Dorothy (Ackerman) Bauer.

He was a very kind and gentle person who will most likely be remembered for his sense of humor. He will be truly missed by his friends and family alike.

A memorial service will be held July 10th, 2017 at the Freck Funeral Chapel, 1155 S. Wynn Rd in Oregon. Guests are welcome to arrive at 11:00 to socialize, with the service starting at noon. A Celebration of Life reception will follow at RFS Charitable 830 N Summit in Toledo.  Anyone attending is encouraged to dress comfortably, the way that Gregg would have wanted it. Memorial contributions can be made directly to his sons or to the “Gregg Bauer Memorial Fund” on the gofundme.com website. For any questions, please speak with the family.
