Irene M. Ewersen

Irene M. Ewersen, 84, of Oregon, Ohio passed away on Wednesday, September 19, 2018 at Bay Park Community Hospital.  She was born on July 18, 1934 in Toledo, Ohio to Henry and Marie Dieckmann.  Irene was a 1952 graduate of Waite High School and worked for Toledo Trust and Society Bank for many years.  After retiring, she ran a day care for over 10 years.  Irene loved to read and sew.  Irene was a life-long member of St. Mark Lutheran Church where she sang in the choir.  She will be dearly missed.

            Irene is survived by her children:  Martin (Kelly) Ewersen, Matthew (Angie) Ewersen, James (Janet) Ewersen, Todd (Julie) Ewersen and Anne (Todd) Strasser; 17 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren; sister-in-law, Louise Dieckmann and many nieces and nephews.  She was preceded in death by her husband, Frederick; her parents; daughter, Cindy Hansen; son, Lyle Ewersen and brothers, Robert and Richard Dieckmann. 

Family and friends may visit the Freck Funeral Chapel, 1155 S. Wynn Rd in Oregon on Friday, September 21, 2018, from 4-8 p.m.  Funeral service will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday at St. Mark Lutheran Church, 611 Woodville Rd. in Toledo where family will greet guests after 10:30 a.m.  Burial will follow at Toledo Memorial Park. Memorial contributions can be made to St. Mark Lutheran Church.
