James L. Schimmel

            James L. Schimmel, 57, of Curtice, Ohio, passed away on Wednesday, June 14, 2017. He was born in Oregon, Ohio on June 7, 1960 to Lloyd and Bernice (Marsh) Schimmel and was a 1978 graduate of Genoa High School. For over 30 years, Jimi worked in construction and also loved farming. Most recently he was a security guard for Ironhead Fabricating - Toledo Shipyard. He was a 30 plus year member of the Sons of the American Legion Posts in Oregon and Elmore and a founding member of the Curtice Kidz Days and Curtice Athletic Club.

            He is survived by his sister, Cyndi Childress and brother, Scott Schimmel along with many dear nieces and nephews. Jimi was preceded in death by his parents and sisters, Charlene Dempsey and Linda Widmer.

            Family and friends may visit the Freck Funeral Chapel, 1155 S. Wynn Rd in Oregon on Wednesday, June 21, 2017 from 11-12:30 p.m. with the Funeral Service to begin at 12:30 p.m. Burial will follow at Williston Cemetery. Memorial contributions can be made to Hospice of Northwest Ohio.
