Jerry Lee Snider

Jerry Lee Snider, beloved husband, brother, father, grandfather and great-grandfather passed away Sunday, April 1, 2018 at home at the age of 81, surrounded by his loving family. He was born October 3, 1936 in Lima, OH to Oscar and Nellie (Butler) Snider, the 8th of 10 children and grew up on the family farm. He moved to the Toledo area at age 21. After several other positions, Jerry gained employment at Buckeye Pipeline, where he stayed for 45 years, until his retirement in 2002. Jerry was passionate about his garden. He loved to hunt, take care of his house and yard and spent many hours outdoors. He was a dedicated family man who cherished his wife, children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Jerry was preceded in death by his parents; his son Dennis; and his siblings, Oscar, Charles “Dutch”, Mary Jean and Doyle. Jerry is survived by his loving wife of 41 years, Patricia (Curry); children, Nathan (Enid) Snider, Annette, Beth and Melissa (Mick) Knox; stepchildren, Jeff (Annette) Metzker, Jerry Metzker and Michelle (David) Grosjean; 15 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren, as well as his siblings, Donald “Bud”, Danny (Mary) and Barry Snider; Helen Spyker and Peggy Satterfield. Jerry will be remembered for his great smile, his love of his family and always offering a helping hand to anyone who needed it.

Family and friends may visit the Freck Funeral Chapel, 1155 S. Wynn Rd in Oregon on Wednesday, April 4, 2018, from 2-8 p.m. The funeral will be held at 12:45 p.m. on Thursday, April 5, 2018 at Calvary Lutheran Church, 1930 Bradner Rd. in Northwood with the family to receive guests at 12 noon.  Burial will follow at Lake Twp. Cemetery. Memorial contributions can be made to Hospice of Northwest Ohio or Calvary Lutheran Church.
