 Lawrence “Larry” Ollivier

 

            Lawrence H. Ollivier, 73, of Toledo, Ohio passed away on Thursday, January 17, 2019.  He was born on September 29, 1945 in Toledo, Ohio to Herbert and Rita Ollivier.  Larry attended Salem-Oak Harbor High School before serving in the U.S. Marine Corps.  He retired from CSX railroad after many years of service as a longshoreman.  Larry was a member of the V.F.W. Post #4906.  He enjoyed playing poker, watching game shows and trivia.   Larry was an avid Notre Dame and Ohio State fan.  He will be dearly missed.

 

            Larry is survived by his wife, Dorothy Ollivier; sons, Larry Ollivier and Kevin (Masako) Ollivier; stepchildren, whom he raised since they were small, David (Sharon) Acton, Shawn (Frank) Ramirez and Robert (Cindy) Acton; grandchildren, Destry, Lawrence “Nickey”, David, Joshua, Lita, Danielle, Robert and Bryan; 7 great-grandchildren; close friend, Tami Rife and her family.  He is also survived by his siblings, Kay (John) Falk, Cheryl Sigurdson, Judy Risner and Richard (Joyce) Ollivier and many nieces and nephews.  Larry was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Russell.

 

Family and friends may visit the Freck Funeral Chapel, 1155 S. Wynn Rd in Oregon on Tuesday, January 22, 2019, from 9-12 p.m. where services will follow at 12 noon.  Burial will follow at Union Cemetery in Oak Harbor. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Hospice of Northwest Ohio.
