Mary Ellen Bihn Obituary

Mary Ellen Bihn, 86, of Northwood, Ohio passed away peacefully on Saturday, August 18, 2018 at Hospice of Northwest Ohio, Perrysburg.  She was born on October 19, 1931 in Lakewood, Ohio to Loretta (McNeil) and David W. Barry, Sr. Mary Ellen was a 1949 graduate of St. Ursula Academy and earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from Mary Manse College in 1953.  She married Robert F. Bihn on Thanksgiving Day, November 25, 1954, and he preceded her in death in 2016. She was a member of St. Jerome Catholic Church, Walbridge Senior Center, and Ageless Wonders. Mary Ellen enjoyed western round and square dancing, reading, solving word search puzzles and baking cookies.

 

 Mary Ellen is survived by her children, Mary Susan (William) Mercer, Robert L. (Rosanna) Bihn, Teresa (Steven) Fillmore, Jane (Richard Perse) Bihn and Karl (Mary Jo Wagner) Bihn; 10 grandchildren, Martin (Katie), David, Billy, Mary K., Brett, Mark, John, Matthew, Clara and Andrew; 1 great-granddaughter, Kaylee and sister-in-law, Kathy Barry. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Kathleen Morris and Loretta (James) Kelley and brother, David W. Barry, Jr.

 

Mary Ellen’s family wishes to thank all who have shown her kindness in recent months by visiting, sending a card, making a phone call, offering a prayer or a kind word, bringing flowers, sharing music or providing compassionate care.

 Family and friends may visit the Freck Funeral Chapel, 1155 S. Wynn Rd in Oregon on Tuesday, August 28, 2018, from 2-8 p.m. where the rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. The Funeral Mass will begin at 12 noon on Wednesday, August 29, 2018 at St. Jerome Catholic Church, 300 Warner Street in Walbridge with visitation in the narthex beginning at 11 a.m.  Interment will follow at Lake Township Cemetery. Memorial contributions can be made to St. Jerome Catholic Church or Ursuline Convent -WGTE Mary Manse Story.
