Pastor Cher L. Clay

            Cher L. Clay, 70, of Toledo, OH passed away on Thursday, August 3, 2017 at Genesis of Sylvania Care Facility. She was born in Toledo on October 1, 1946 to Charles and Betty (Ohlmacher) Clay. Cher worked as a pastor for the N.W.O. Psychiatric Hospital until retiring in 2012. Cher had a passion for learning and was working on her Doctoral Degree in Divinity. She was fluent in sign language and was very involved in the deaf community. Cher loved creating art in many mediums, though her favorite and best known works were in blown glass.

            She is survived by her children, Scott Davis Sr., Heather (Matt) Davis-McOwen and Jill Zieman; 7 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren. Cher was preceded in death by her parents.

            Family and friends may visit the Freck Funeral Chapel, 1155 S. Wynn Rd in Oregon on Saturday, August 12, 2017 from 1 to 3 p.m. Her memorial service will be held that day at 3 p.m. in the funeral chapel.  Inurnment will be private. Memorial contributions may be made to a charity of the donor’s choice.
