Dear "Aunt" Vivian, and girls,
We were so saddened to hear of Bill's passing! Mom & dad (Doris & Norm) send their love & prayers, along with me, to all of you. I was hoping to stop in for a little visit when I am in Toledo at the end of the month. You & Bill always hold such a special place in my heart. Growing up, I always felt as close with you as if you were my second parents. Know you are thought of often, and forever impacted my life in so many wonderful ways! Please ask Heidi if she is better at paddling a canoe than last time at the cabin!
Love, Barb

Dear Vivian and Family,
On behalf of the DeVilbiss High School Class of 1950, we wish to express our condolences and prayers to all of you in the passing of Bill. He was a very special member of our class, and went on to touch the lives of so many throughout his lifetime. We remember both of you attending our various class reunions, and having such interesting talks with Bill about his life and activities. He will be remembered and missed by so many folks!
Sincerely, Milly (Dederman) Apardian DHS 1950 class

Uncle Bill was a wonderful Uncle. He was always so much fun-always someone to look forward to seeing. He and Aunt Viv always were there for us growing up-taking us to the farm to stay for a week, doing fun things with us, always letting us know that we were loved. When I was little, Uncle Bill ran a truck route and would stop to have a cup of coffee with my Mom on his break. I was the only one of us girls that wasn't in school yet and felt so lucky to have Uncle Bill all to myself for a few minutes. He always made us feel special. Aunt Viv, Rhoda and Heidi--I love you and your families so much and am so sorry for your loss. My love and prayers are with you always. And Uncle Bill--thank you for the memories and the love you always shared.

Viv, what an example of love you and Bill have always demonstrated. I can still see the two of you sitting in the cafeteria having your supper break and always being such a loving couple. The Christmas dinners at the hospital were always made complete with our own personal Santa present. Please be assured of my love and prayers for you now and in the months to come.

Viv, Rhoda, Heidi and families
Thoughts and prayers are with you all, and our memories will forever keep Bill with us. He was such a wonderful man. I wrote this poem in his memory.
~ Bill ~
Cantankerous blue eyes held fixed
Till soon a smile he'd see

For then he knew a friend for life
Is what you now would be

His love for children went beyond
The normal father's love

For many children at Christmas time
He was the Santa that they loved

No matter where or when you found him
With a group of friends

You knew full well the laughing
Came from something he had said.

His faith did always bring him through
The times that he found sad

For God above did have a plan
Of granting blessings on this man

He blessed him with a loving wife
And Viv was always there

The blessings kept on coming
With Kids and grandkids for them to share

Their Love just kept on giving
to family and friends

Now Memories will keep him with us
Till Our journey ends

Mr. Bowman was my Favorite Teacher, not just at Fassett but throughout my education. He is the only teacher that I think about often. Wish I would have looked him up. I remember lots of things from his class and home room. The only thing you did not want to hear him say was, ".........go get Mr Leathermen" (this meant you were in trouble and were going to get "The Black Mariah" paddle. He could make dust fly from your pants. I am sitting here with tears in my eyes but a big smile on my face having been blessed by God to have the opportunity
to learn many life lessons from "Mr. B"
Great memories of a Fantastic Teacher and molder of young lives.
You are all in my prayers for your loss but you know he is looking down from heaven today with a smile on his face realizing how many lives he had a positive influence on through teaching and his work at St Charles and Santa Clause.
