Judith Ann (Nagy) Besgrove, age 85, of Oregon, OH, went to her heavenly home on March 8, 2024 surrounded by her loving family. She was born on September 4, 1938 to John S. and Eleanor (Kovach) Nagy. Judy married the love of her life, William E. Besgrove, on June 8, 1957. Together they had two daughters, Debbie and Dora. She was employed at Toledo Scale, Toledo Trust, was the Clerk of Courts for Oregon Municipal Court, and later worked for the US Attorney’s Office. She also had her real estate and securities licenses. From an early age, Judy studied and loved ballet, adagio, and many other styles of dance. She graduated from Waite High School in 1956. While a student, she played trombone, was a majorette and danced in the Waite Follies. Later in life, she brought her dreams to life by opening her dance studio, “Judy Besgrove’s School of Dance” in Oregon in the 1960’s. Judy loved to travel with her husband, together with friends, she and Bill visited Hawaii, Aruba, Mexico, St. Martin, and their favorite destination, Jamaica. However, her greatest joy was her family to which she earned the nickname “Grandma No No” after her constant warning of the smaller children to leave her many “shiny things” alone. She hosted many holiday parties and family events and was an active member at St. Ignatius Catholic Church.
Judy is survived by her husband, William; daughter, Deborah (Michael) Madson; son-in-law, Michael Lewis; 9 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; 4 great-great-grandchildren; and her cat, “Handsome Jack.” She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Eleanor Nagy; daughter, Dora Lewis; sister, Barbara Pompos; and grandson, Nick Lewis
Family and friends may visit at the Freck Funeral Chapel , 1155 S. Wynn Rd., Oregon, OH, on Thursday, March 14, 2024 from 9:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. Closing prayers will be recited at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home. The funeral mass will be celebrated at St. Ignatius Catholic Church, 212 N. Stadium Dr., Oregon, OH at 11:30 a.m. Judy will be laid to rest at St. Ignatius Cemetery. Memorial contributions in her name may be made to Helping Hands of St. Louis, Toledo, OH.
