Roena Jane Wood

Roena Jane Wood age 92 of Oregon passed away on Wednesday, August 23, 2023, at the Garden of St. Francis. Roena was born to John Lee and Tula (Jackson) McClure in Palmersville, Tennessee on November 27, 1930. She moved up to Toledo, Ohio in her late teens where she met and married her husband James Richard Wood who preceded her in death. Together they had four children. Roena was a loving mom, grandma, and great-grandma. She enjoyed painting and art, listening to country music, and driving through Maumee Bay State Park to watch the deer.

Roena is survived by her daughters Bonnie Kerstetter and Robin (Joe) Schmidbauer; grandchildren Kellan (Stephanie) Baker, Brooke (Kyle Garrett) Vajen, and Jacob Vajen; great-granddaughter Elena Baker and many nieces and nephews. Along with her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, son James Richard Wood Jr., daughter Gloria Wood, and siblings Agatha Cook, Agola Emerson, Darwin McClure, Desmond McClure, Doris McClure, Emily Lloyd, Roscoe McClure, and Vasco McClure.

Friends may call Sunday, August 27, 2023, at Freck Funeral Chapel 1155 S Wynn Rd. in Oregon, Ohio from 2 until 7 p.m. A funeral service will be held at 7 p.m. Private burial will be held at North Oregon Cemetery.
