Alta “Elaine” Gleesing, 73, of Oregon, Ohio passed away on Thursday, October 27, 2016 at Hospice of Northwest Ohio-Toledo Facility. She was born on July 17, 1943 in Toledo, Ohio to Phillip and Eleanor Riley. Elaine was a 1961 graduate of Clay High School and worked for Medical Mutual, retiring after 23 years of service. She was a devoted mother, grandmother and great-grandmother who enjoyed cooking, crafts and taking trips down South to see the mountains. She will be dearly missed.
Elaine is survived by her children: Charles (Rose) Gleesing, Maria (Dan) Hartwig, Sarah (John) Berry and Christina (Mark) Hughes; 14 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, her sister, Mary Jean Key and her brother-in-law, Glenn Key.
A memorial gathering will take place at the Freck Funeral Chapel, 1155 S. Wynn Rd in Oregon on Wednesday, November 2, 2016 from 5-7 p.m. where a memorial service will follow at 7 p.m. Memorial contributions can be made to Hospice of Northwest Ohio.
