Barb Gladieux

Barbara Marie Gladieux, age 93, gained her wings to continue her journey with the Lord on Monday, June 29, 2026, in the memory care center at StoryPoint in Waterville, Ohio. Barb lived a wonderful life and was blessed to have so many friends and relatives to enjoy it with.

She was born on November 5, 1932, in Toledo, Ohio, to the late Walter F. and Lillian (Mallory) Hall. She graduated from Central Catholic High School, where she made life-long friends who started their own sorority and continued getting together a few times a year until their later years.

Barb met the love of her life, Thomas Harry Gladieux, in 1957 at a dance and they married a year later on May 17, 1958. Barb and Tom loved traveling, including all 50 states and Canada. They lived in Oregon, Ohio, until his passing in 2024. They had many wonderful years together.

Barb was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church. She volunteered at the Main Library bookstore and the Toledo Museum of Art as a greeter, until her early 80’s. She loved dressing up and going out to have a good time.

Those left to forever cherish her memory are her loving children, Kim (Dan) Nagel, David, and Alan (Valerie) Gladieux; four grandchildren, Max Nagel, Nicholas, Andrew, and Leah Gladieux.

In addition to her parents, Barb was preceded in death by her husband, Tom; and sister, Geraldine.

Family and friends may gather at Epiphany of the Lord Parish-St Thomas Aquinas Church, 729 White Street, Toledo, Ohio 43605, from 10:00 am – 12:00 pm, where the funeral Mass will be celebrated at 12:00 pm. Following Mass, Barb will be laid to rest at Lake Township Cemetery.

The family would like to thank StoryPoint staff from the independent Living area to the Memory Care Center. Everyone was so caring and fun to be around; she loved the activities from getting her nails polished to going down to “happy hour” every Wednesday! The food there was exceptional as well!

Also, a huge thank you to Elara Caring staff for visiting often and managing her pain care towards the end.
