Barbara Ann Laffoon Matney

Barbara Ann Laffoon Matney passed from this life on October 15, 2022.  She was born April 5, 1935 to Cordie and Cora Laffoon, in Hopkins County, Kentucky.  The youngest of eight children, she was preceded in death by her parents, her sons, and all of her siblings and in-laws.  On June 2, 1953, she married Bobbie “Gene” Matney and to this union four children were born:  Anita (Bill) Salay, Walter, Glenda (John) Harper, and Alan (Maria).  She is survived by her daughters, Anita and Glenda, son-in-law, John, daughters-in-law, Maria and Rhonda; grandmother to: Paul, Troy, Erin, Amy, Olivia, and Bryce; and great-grandmother to:  Joel, Ryder, Weston, Regan, and Riley.

Throughout her life, Barb loved sewing, quilting, crocheting, gardening, cooking, baking, playing cards with friends, reading, and doing puzzles.  But most important to her was showing her love for her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, through bible study, Sunday school teaching, hymn singing, serving in Vacation Bible School, and hosting and ministering to countless speakers and missionary families.  More importantly, she was our prayer warrior.

A celebration of life service will be held at Living Word Baptist Church 6100 N. Drouillard Road Northwood, Ohio on Saturday, October 29, 2022 starting at 10:00 a.m. with luncheon to follow.
