Bettie Joyce Crawford

It is with heavy hearts and profound sadness that we announce the unexpected passing of Bettie Joyce Crawford, a beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. She peacefully departed this world on December 2nd at the age of 90. Bettie was born to Abraham and Hattie Miracle on January 2nd, 1934, in Harlan, KY and was raised in Middlesboro, KY. She married Jay Crawford, in Ohio on June 26, 1953. 

Bettie worked for Child and Family Services of Toledo for many years. She enjoyed traveling the world with her husband Jay. But her greatest memories were spending summers at her pool with her family and attending the many sporting events of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. 

Left to cherish her memory are her son, Michael (Deb); sister, Elizabeth; grandchildren, Kristin (Nick) Jeremy, Kaitlyn (Casey) Klein, and Kimberly (Jake) Molter; great-grandchildren, Luke, Kennedi, Kenzie, Kendyll, Brody, Kallie, Carson, and Charlotte; and several nieces and nephews especially Jack, Gary, and Gail. Bettie is preceded in death by her parents, husband Jay, and siblings, Magdline, VI, and Jack. 

In accordance with Bettie’s wishes, services will be private, and a celebration of life will be held at a later date. Memorial contributions in Bettie’s honor may be donated to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital or the Humane Society of the donor’s choosing.
