Catherine J. Mcatee

Catherine J. McAtee, 94, of Genoa, Ohio passed away on March 5, 2021 at Ottawa County Riverview Healthcare Campus.  She was born on February 10, 1927 to Herbert and Gail Whaley in Auglaize County, Ohio.  Catherine was a graduate of Woodward High School.  She worked various places over the years including LaSalle Department Store, Little Sisters of the Poor, Jack’s Superette, Freeway Laundromat, and Hy-Flash Tavern.

Catherine is survived by her children, Kathleen McClain, Karen Montry, Linda (Ronald) Brown, Brenda Tutrow, Doreen (Robert) Varga, Tim (Cheryl) McAtee, and Michael (Lucinda) McAtee; many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great great-grandchildren and her sister, Diana (Charles) Alexander.  She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Jack; brothers, Robert and William Whaley and sister, Dorothy Ball.

Family and friends may visit the Freck Funeral Chapel, 1155 S. Wynn Rd in Oregon on Tuesday, March 9, 2021, from 2:00-7:00 p.m. Memorial contributions can be made to St Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
