Charles "Skip" Zattau Iii

Charles E. Zattau III, age 75, of Northwood, Ohio passed away surrounded by family on March 19, 2024 at Mercy Health-St. Vincent Medical Center.  He was born on November 26, 1948 in Toledo, Ohio to Charles and Lucille Zattau.  Skip served nine years in the U.S. Army National Guard.  He worked for Reiter Automotive, retiring after 26 years of service.  After retiring he continued to work at Eastlane Park helping with maintenance.  Skip was an active member of the Northwood V.F.W.  In his spare time, he enjoyed golfing.

Skip is survived by his loving wife of 42 years, Deborah; daughters, Patti (Scott) Hanna, Darla Traver, Tammi (Joe) McCourt, Stacy Zattau, Holly (Jamie Sheats) Zattau, and Sara Zattau; 16 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; sisters, Joann Norris, Barbara Smith, Charlene Waggoner, and Patricia (Jim) Kalmbach; and his fury friend, Chico.  He was preceded in death by his parents, sisters, Sue Oberdier, Judy Ralph, and Geraldine Gedert; brother, Rollie Zattau; and his great-granddaughter, Jaelynn Elizabeth.

Family and friends may visit the Freck Funeral Chapel, 1155 S. Wynn Rd in Oregon on Wednesday, March 27, 2024, from 10-2:00 p.m. where services will be held at 2:00 p.m.  Memorial contributions can be made to Northwood V.F.W.
