Christopher E. Dietrich

December 25, 1959 — November 28, 2025

Christopher E. Dietrich, age 65, resident of Fremont, Ohio, passed away in the comfort of his home, Birchard Place, on Friday, November 28, 2025. He was born on December 25, 1959, in Genoa, Ohio, to the late Eugene and Veronica (Weis) Dietrich.

Chris grew up just south of Genoa on a small farm within walking distance of church and attended Genoa Area Schools where he participated in FFA and also enjoyed shop class. His family and the local community shaped his early life and values. Chris cared deeply about his family. He cherished the role of a loving uncle and relished every moment spent with his nieces and nephews. He remembered everyone's birthday and wedding anniversaries. He made it a priority to stay connected with them and his friends by calling everyone often. He loved talking on the phone, sharing any news he had and keeping up with siblings, nieces and nephews, cousins and friends. He always wanted to help people with their health, often offering suggestions and he loved sharing stories, but his favorite topic was farming.

Having grown up on a farm, Chris was a farmer at heart and loved watching things grow. True to his belief that "once a farmer, always a farmer," he never lost his interest in learning and reading about agriculture. He enjoyed reading his ACRES USA magazine and contributed articles that were published in it. He also loved keeping up with all the news in the Suburban Press and contributed many letters to the editor. He was always thrilled when he was "published."

Chris’ warmth, commitment to family, and love for farming will be missed by all who knew him. His legacy will be remembered through the lives he touched.

Those left to forever cherish his memory are his loving siblings, Frank Dietrich (Claudia), Charlene Williams (Roger), Monica Beattie (Sanford), Rita Jester (Terry), and Junella Bradfield (James); many nieces and nephews; great nieces and nephews; and lots of friends.

In addition to his parents, Chris was preceded in death by his sister, Bernadette Dezanett; and a nephew, Eugene Dezanett.
