Clyde Edward Thomas

Clyde “Ed” Edward Thomas, 77, of Northwood, OH passed away Tuesday, May 3, 2022. He was born in Toledo, OH to Garland and Mary Elizabeth (Barnett) Thomas on July 12, 1944. Ed graduated from Woodward High School in 1963 and then proudly served in the US Navy during the Vietnam War. Ed was a hard worker both at home and at work. He was never one to be sitting still. He had many hobbies including fishing yardwork, home improvements, and rooting for Earnhardt. Ed was blessed with a loving family who will miss him dearly every day. To know Ed was to love him. His loving, funny, happy and special presence will truly be missed.

Ed is survived by his wife, Linda; his sons, Ben (Laura) Thomas, Matthew (Bertha) Thomas and a bonus daughter, Heather Hart; his beloved grandchildren, Annemarie Thomas, Julia Thomas, and Steven Hart, who called him “Poppy;” his sister-in-law, Janet Gargac; and his nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother-in-law, Donald Gargac.

Family and friends may visit the Freck Funeral Chapel, 1155 S. Wynn Rd in Oregon Tuesday, May 10, 2022 from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. with the funeral service to be held at 11:00 a.m. Memorial contributions in his name may be made to the family.
