Dale F. Volschow of Walbridge, Ohio, peacefully passed away surrounded by his loving family on Thursday, September 25, 2025. He was born to the late Fred and Alice Volschow, December 3, 1933, in Genoa, Ohio. Dale graduated from Genoa High School in 1951 and later attended Davis Business College. He married Ruth (Zytkus) in October 1960, and they lived together in Walbridge, Ohio ever since.
Dale worked at Libbey Owens Ford, East Broadway factory and later pursued his career in computer operations at their downtown location until he retired in 1998.
Dale will always be remembered as a very quiet, gentle man. He will be greatly missed and will never be forgotten as a great Husband, Father and Papa. He enjoyed going to dinner and dancing with friends. He loved his Cleveland Indians and Browns as well as Ohio State Football. He particularly loved to talk sports and getting sport updates from his son Jeff. Dale was a great Papa and really enjoyed the time spent with his grand kids. He was a member of St. Jerome Church, and the Walbridge St. Jerome Council 11450 Knights of Columbus. He volunteered at various functions, festivals and fish frys.
Dale is survived by his wife, Ruth, his son Jeff (Laurie), his grandchildren Katie (Tom) Corcoran and Andrew Volschow (Jenna Mechler).
He is preceded in death by his parents Fred and Alice Volschow and his brother Don Volschow.
Per Dale’s wishes, there will be no visitation; also funeral and burial services will be private. His family encourages you to honor his memory in your own way or by a random act of kindness.
The family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks and appreciation to the staff at The Waterford at Levis Commons, the staff at The Landings of Oregon and the staff at Care 360 Hospice for treating Dale with kindness and dignity of family.
