Daniel M. O' Connell

Daniel O’ Connell ,86, passed away on November 2, 2026. Born September 25, 1940, in Toledo, Dan was the son of Daniel and Minnie O’ Connell. Dan graduated from Central Catholic High School and had an engineering degree from the University of Toledo. In his free time while at UT, he enjoyed playing baseball and hockey.

Daniel was a meter tech for Toledo Edison for 30 years before retiring from the company in 1993. Following retirement, he enjoyed many years of golf games. He was a member of the German club and enjoyed going to Oak Shade Grove and volunteering at the GAF. Dan went on many vacations south and west, a couple of cruises, and even journeyed overseas. For the last several years he found joy in going out on Wednesdays and Fridays seeing his friends.

Dan is survived by his son, Daniel (Amy) O’Connell; sister, Mary O’Connell, and cousin, Debbe Sadlier. He is preceded in death by his wife, Dianna; daughter, Debra Erdmann; siblings, JoAnn, Thomas, and William O’Connell and Dorothy Schneider. 

A visitation will be held at Freck Funeral Chapel, 1155 S Wynn Rd, in Oregon, Ohio, on Friday, November 13, 2026, from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. with a memorial service beginning at 12:00 p.m.
