Darla May Bieniek

Darla M. Bieniek, age 70, of Oregon, Ohio passed away on Sunday, January 1, 2023 at Gardens of St. Francis.  She was born on February 26, 1952 in Toledo, Ohio to Robert and Margaret (Clara) Petrie.  Darla worked various jobs over the years including, Penske, LaGrange Memorial Hospital, and Plymouth Place Nursing Home.  She retired after 20 years as an STNA from Plymouth Place before becoming a caregiver to her parents.  Darla loved spending time with her family and friends.  She was often found playing solitaire, word search puzzles, or working on latch hook rugs.  She will be dearly missed.

Darla is survived by her daughter, Sherri Christensen; sisters, Laura (Shane) Dailey, and Teri Ann (Larry) Heilman; stepsister, Cathy (Richard Heilman) Carlo; goddaughter, Tory (Aaron) Thompson; nieces and nephews, Wendy (Joe) Szczerbiak, and Blake (Jessica) Heilman; great nieces and nephews, Kerstin, Kaylee, Everett, Nicholas, Alice, Gage, Aiden, and Easton; and many other nieces and nephews and great nieces and great nephews.  She was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Judy; and stepfather, Earl Henning.

Family and friends may visit the Freck Funeral Chapel, 1155 S. Wynn Rd in Oregon on Thursday, January 5, 2023 from 5-7:00 p.m. where funeral services will be held at 7:00 p.m. Private burial will take place at Toledo Memorial Park.  Memorial contributions can be made to Hospice of Northwest Ohio or the Gardens of St. Francis.  A special thank you to the wonderful staff and nurses at Hospice of Northwest Ohio and the Gardens of St. Francis for all their care.
