David Harold Baker

David Harold Baker, 72, of Oregon, Ohio, after a long battle with cancer, passed away peacefully on November 3, 2026, leaving behind a long, well-lived life, surrounded by his loving family. Dave was born March 4, 1954, in Lima, Ohio, to Jacob and Lavern (Barnes) Baker. Dave will be deeply missed by his beloved wife, Laura E. Baker, with whom he shared 29 years of marriage, and children Jennifer Pardo, Aaron (Caroline) Fletcher, and his former wife, Debra K. (Garrison) Albright, daughter Heather Baker, and daughter-in-law Corry Baker.

He is also survived by his sister, Kathy Leppla; brothers-in-law James A. Fletcher, Randall (Amy) Fletcher; sister-in-law Linda Corder; and father-in-law James D. Fletcher. Dave was preceded in death by his parents Jacob and Lavern (Barnes) Baker, his son Justin Baker, and brother-in-law John Leppla. His family finds comfort in knowing that he has now been reunited with those who went before him.

Dave was very proud of his family. One of his greatest joys was watching his grandchildren Mason, Tyler, Lexi, Kassidy, Madilynn, and James grow through the years. They brought so much happiness to his life and made sure he always knew just how much he was loved. He also leaves behind a great-grandchild and many nieces and nephews he cherished.

Dave spent many years working as an operator and took great pride in his work. He retired from BP after a long and dedicated career. Dave thoroughly enjoyed watching most sports. In his younger years, playing and coaching football were among his favorite pastimes. He was also an avid Browns fan and enjoyed cheering them on.

Dave leaves behind a loving family and many cherished memories. His love, laughter, and presence will be deeply missed. The memories he created with those he loved will live on in their hearts forever. His family is rejoicing in God’s promise that they will see him again one day!

Visitation will be held on Saturday, November 7, 2026, at Freck Funeral Chapel, 1155 S Wynn Road, Oregon, OH 43616, from 1:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m., with the memorial service immediately following at 3:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Dave’s Name to St. Jude Children’s Cancer.
