Don Edward Opblinger

Don Edward Opblinger age 87 of Walbridge passed away Monday June 26, 2023 at Otterbein Portage Valley. Don was born to Edward and Mildred (Stoner) Opblinger on October 8, 1935 in Walbridge, Ohio. He was a 1953 graduate of the Olney High School and went to work for the railroad. In 1955 he married the love of his life, Joneal, who preceded him in passing in 2018. Don enjoyed fishing and hunting, woodworking and camping. He always loved sports, in his younger years he played softball and loved watching his grandkids play.

Don is survived by his children Lynn Opblinger, Jay (Karen) Opblinger, Ken (Emma) Opblinger, Kelly (Todd) Gilsdorf; his son-in-law, David Limpf; grandchildren Brooke Limpf, Nicholas (Tamara) Limpf, Katie Limpf, Kayleigh (Josh) Davis, Katrina (Justin) Bain, McKenzie Gilsdorf, McKena Gilsdorf, Nathan (Shelby Quinn) Opblinger, Matthew Opblinger, Derek (Danielle) Opblinger, Caleb (Kylie) Opblinger, Randy (Stefanie) Gillen, Amanda (Ramon) Ochoa, Melissa Snyder, Alexis Snyder, and Noah Snyder; great-grandchildren Emma, Easton, Shelby, Hannah, Gavin, Jake, Remmington, Owen, Brinley, Gage, Jonah, Myles, Lily, and Isla; and his beloved dog, JoJo. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Joneal, daughters Donna Opblinger and Jeanne Limpf, and a brother Darrel Opblinger.

A visitation will be held at Freck Funeral Chapel 1155 S. Wynn Rd in Oregon on Sunday July 2, 2023 from 2 until 8 p.m. The funeral will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Lake Township Cemetery. Memorial contributions are appreciated to the Cherry Street Mission.
